Hub USB - problem z podłączeniem dysku 2.5"

Witam!
Mój system to Windows XP Prof., SP3, ESS.
Zakupiłem taki oto Hub USB
Za pomocą niego podłączyłem mój dysk 2.5" z przejściówką na USB do gniazda.
Niestety pisze tylko, że instaluje sterowniki, znaleziono nowy sprzęt etc. ale efekt mizerny - dyku nie widać!
Jeżeli podłączę ten dysk bez huba przejściowego, komputer widzi go normalnie. Tak jakby hub usb mulił coś i nie przepuszcza wyszukiwania dysku.
Dodam jeszcze że pendrive podpięty do tego portu chodzi na każdym gnieździe. Karty SD, MMC, CF też widzi.
Co może być nie tak?
Chciałem ten hub podłączyć do rutera (niebawem go kupie), który ma tylko 1 port, a ja potrzebuje trzech.
Dodam, że po odpaleniu Linuxa ubuntu (live cd) efekt taki sam jak na Windowsie XP.
PS-podłączyłem teraz dysk zewnętrzny 3.5" 1.5TB na USB do tego portu w Hubie i wykrywa normalnie. Dysk ma zasilanie swoje z zasilacza.

bo to nie jest "czysty" hub usb. nie koniecznie bedzie dzialal z routerem.
majac linuxa live mogles dac zrzut z dmesg po podlaczeniu dysku.
rozumiem ze kieszen wpieta bezpisrednio do kompa dziala poprawnie?

Kieszeń wpięta bezpośrednio do kompa działa poprawnie. Ciekawi mnie fakt ze dysk 3.5" działa ok.
Chętnie zrobię zrzut z dmesg tylko jak?
Ps- Próbowałem na innym laptopie tych wszystkich operacji i efekt taki sam. Może ta obudowa dla tego huba jest jakaś toksyczna :|

no to moze juz wlasnie odpowiedziales sobie na pytanie. moze problemem sa dwie partycje.
co do dmesg to poprostu odpal linuxa, podlacz dysk i w konsoli wydaj komende dmesg
ja stawiam na upierdliwy "hub?". trzeba bylo kupic normalny typowy hub usb a nie jakis kombajn z czytnikiem kart.

Sformatowałem dysk tak żeby była jedna partycja i tez lipa... kuwa, czemu nikt mi nie powiedział, że hub usb to nie to samo co hub usb + dodatki
Założe się, że kupno drugiego huba tylko z portami usb nie będzie rozwiązaniem 100% dobrym... zawsze może się okazać, że kieszeń jest niekompatybilna :|
Ciekawi mnie tylko jedno... czemu dysk 1.5TB 3.5" z zasilaniem własnym widzi POPRAWNIE?

To by mogło znaczyć, że przez hub przechodzi za mało prądu żeby moc zasilić dysk. Sprawdź po prostu z zewnętrznym zasilaniem (kabel USB typu Y)

Ja obstawiam to, ze ten czytnik kart pamieci wsysa sporo pradu z portu usb i potem dysk 2,5" ma go za malo tylko dla siebie. Pamietajmy, ze dysk to mechanika, ktora trzeba wprawic w ruch, a nie pendrive, ktory ma duzo mniejszy pobor pradu

Ale nie wiesz ile ten hub ciagnie. Są kabeli usb z rozgałęziaczem - bezpośrednio taki pod dysk podepnij.

Jest! znalazłem rozwiązanie!
Dysk niedovoltowany :| Zrobiłem tak jedno usb zasilanie i dane podpiąłem do Huba, natomiast to drugie, które służy jako dodatkowe zasilanie do dysku podpiąłem tym razem nie do huba tylko wpiąłem do laptopa i dysk ruszył!
To iloma Watami to zaslić żeby obsłużyło 3x USB + wszystkie czytniki?
Obok wejścia pisze 5V DC .... Jakbym dał 2 albo 3A*5V to nic mu nie będzie (kartom, pendrajvom też?

Kurcze podpiąłem zasilacz do huba 5,3V 2A i lipa, nie chce działać.
Tutaj też chłopaki nie wiedzą dlaczego tak sie dzieje... podlaczaja zasilanie z komputera i działa.. zasilanie z huba nie działa :/

Straciłem już siłę ijedyne wyjście w mojej sytuacji to zakup drugiego huba usb, ewentualnie huba + obudowy.
Jakby ktoś mógł polecić mi jakiś aktywny hub usb, który na 100% będzie działał z taką obudową (zdjęcie poniżej) to będe wdzięczny!
Ewentualnie jakaś inna obudowa z jakimś hubem, która działa na sete.
