Asus RT-N18U - czy modem USB zastąpi router LTE?

Kupiłem Asus RT-N18U żeby poprawić zasięg WiFi w domu i działa w trybie Access Point razem routerem z wbudowanym modemem LTE (D-link DWR-921).
Osiągam fajne transfery typu 40Mb/s download.
Ale irytują mnie 2 urządzenia - prądożerne, niepraktyczne i wolałbym jedno sprzedać.
Czy jest szansa zbliżyć się przynajmniej do tych wyników za pomocą modemu USB?
Czytałem wiele tematów i były problemu typu niedoczytujące się strony czy wolne transfery - zostały już w jakimś stopniu rozwiązane? Czy to ograniczenia sprzętowe?

Czy nie ma możliwości kupić od razu wersji non-hilink?
Będzie potrzebny hub aktywny? Chcę też podpiąć dysk USB do złącza 3.0 i się zastanawiam czy router wyrobi prądowo.

pod usb3.0 to ja co proponuję podpiąć właśnie modem Smile Ale to najlepiej sobie samemu potestować czy usb3.0 w przypadku modemu w twojej lokalizacji ma sens.

Z modemem non-Hilink to ciężko powiedzieć czy trafisz. Na szczęście przeróbka zajmuje raptem 5min.

Mogę mieć modem Huawei E3372h od Play.

Wiem, że wersja "h" jest trudniejsza do przeróbek, ale skoro na komputerze trzeba się łączyć za pomocą programu od Play, tzn. jest to wersja non-hilink i powinna fajnie działać w routerze?

były dwa podejścia do E3372h i oba nieuddane.

Nawet nie pchaj się w ten model.

Szukaj E3372s lub E3276s. Oba bez problemu przerobisz na non-Hilink i oba bardzo ładnie działają z Tomato (od v131). Na E3372 wyciągam 30/20Mbps ale to ze względu na lokalizację. Dodam, że ten sam modem wpięty w lapka wyciąga tyle samo.

Shibby skoro już mam taki modem to spróbowałem i Huawei E3372H ruszył na Twoim sofcie.
Bez żadnego kombinowania, tylko wpiąłem i przełączyłem tryb.

A jak sprawdzać siłę sygnału i tryb?
W panelu jest tylko:
Connection Type: 4G/LTE (czyli nie wiadomo)

a w logu tylko z momentu wykrywania urządzenia i łączenia się:

Siła sygnału jest w logu, ale tylko przy starcie połączenia.
Gdy zmieniają się warunki pogodowe albo zmieni położenie modemu na kablu to już nie ma jak sprawdzić - przydałaby się komenda.
Skoro skrypt wymusza to ok, bo błękitna dioda to wg. instrukcji również 4G czyli np. HSPA(+).
