Asus RT-N66U, Huawei E3251, Tomato 121, brak połączenia

Posiadam sprzęt ja w tytule:
-Asus RT-N66U
-modem od Orange Huawei E3251

Modem jako tako chodził na firmware producenta, chociaż nie na każdym i były problemy z szybkością i stałością łącza. Zainstalowałem tomato-RT-N66U_RT-AC6x--121-VPN-64K po czym po ustawieniu połączenia modemem 3g wszystko zadziałało cudnie.
Niestety na następny dzień modem rozłączył się od sieci i już nie chciał połączyć się z powrotem.
Próbowałem flashować NVRAM, wrzucać inne oprogramowanie (tomato-RT-N66U_RT-AC6x--115-PL-VPN-64K oraz tomato-RT-N66U_RT-AC6x--123-VPN-64K) jednak nie było żadnych zmian (dodatkowo na tomato-RT-N66U_RT-AC6x--123-VPN-64K nie chciało zadziałać połączenie po kablu).
Konfiguracja WAN jest prawidłowa, modem dostaje pin i zaczyna mrugać niebieską diodą (próba rejestracji w sieci lub bycie w jej zasięgu), jednak za nic nie chce się połączyć. W zakładce Overview cały czas napisane jest "Connecting", jednak nic z tego nie wynika. Naciskanie guziczka Connect nic nie daje, przestawienie modemu w tryb ręcznego łączenia również nie pomogło.
Próbowałem używać kawałków różnych skryptów, które znalazłem w odmentach internetu, jednak dalej bez zmian.
Mam włączoną obsługę USB 1.1, 2.0 oraz modemu 3G.

Niestety DD-WRT ucegla ten router, więc nie mogę sprawdzić, czy działa na tym.

@overflow2 patrząc po dostępności funkcji w nowych kompilacjach, to chyba nawet WRT54G/GL jeszcze ma OpenVPN, albo jakiś odpowiednik... zależy, na jakie transfery liczysz.

@servee - o ile problem jest w obrębie samych wyjść (dławiki, warystory), to naprawialne, ale jeśli w samym SoC - to nienaprawialne ze względu na koszta. A co było przyczyną?
