Asus RT-N53 A1 + Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-12x K26 USB RT-N53

shibby
RT-N53 hasn`t USB port but 5Ghz wireless card is USB adapter

In RT-N53 build USB Support is added but all USB feature like samba, ftp, dlna etc was removed. Only USB modules needed to run 5GHz wireless are in image. Whole section of USB&NAS should be removed from GUI.

Best Regards.

I am sure it is not software issue - to be sure back to tomato version that was stable and clear nvrom.

Did you replace power suplly? It is common Asus issue I got this at 2 RT-N16 already . Router was reboting and even one of them was flashing leds all the time. Check power suply is not easy you need to add load close to max A it can provide and then check if V is stable.

i tested any build before release also on RT-N16 and it`s working well. Maybe try back to stock firmware and then re-install tomato. If on stock FW router will be also unstable then your will be sure it`s not software issue but hardware.

when I got issue with my RT-N16 I was looking at this post http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopi...hp?t=77149 same poople even used 8A Smile - router will use as much as needed additional A will just help if needed.

It is possible that stock AC is working at 100%+ Smile if you are using WI-FI , USB etc. what eventualy make it dry. If you not abuse router AC will survive longer Smile

ummmm maybe 5 months? and started having disconnects about 1-2 months ago. and over time it was getting worse and not and was... like a roller coaster, but really ever since i just got this power brick, it hasn't reboot yet, and wifi isn't dropping everyone anymore

Uptime 0 days, 03:34:06

Połączony z 15 czerwiec 2014 04:06:43:
i also didnt had to reboot my WDS connected router, it seam to just repick up, it was making it so that i had to connect with my android and reboot the WNR2000v2 everytime the n16 rebooted, Shouldnt the WDS just auto reconnect? cause it seams as soon i just plug in the 4A,(went to 2 goodwills and finally just went to my volunteer Job

Połączony z 15 czerwiec 2014 04:13:25:
its a huge power brick, but the plus is, it got a built in light, pretty sure its for the power, showing up green, (: also it seams the lights on the router are brighter? maybe the 2 power supply's are bad my stock prob died, and prob just replaced with a another bad one, i was using the cord to power a fan i had, maybe fan screwed the brick, but anyways, its still up(: and i just hope to see at least 4 days up-time, and really should be able go months, and with swap 512 ram, and it got a 12v 4 amp power supply now

the only think I can advice more is to use active USB hub ( with seperate power suply). I am not sure what you have connected to USB maybe this device tak a lot of power.

but if this router is only 5 months old - can u RMA it?

I do not know how much A your device conected to USB is taken ( google it). USB 2 allows max 0.5A. If it was design for USB 3.0 can take up to 0.9A what ASUS RT-N16 will not provide.

Can you test your router w/o any device connected to USB?
